Another glorious sunny day and the estuary was doing its thing. I went out and at first headed across towards the Aberdovey side as it looked a little windier over there and Impi had headed off in that direction too. Trouble was as soon as we got past the point the wind was really gusty and just not quite strong enough, especially with the outgoing tide in the same direction as the wind so we headed back into the channel on the Ynyslas side. The wind here was much stronger and not at all gusty so we had a good session blasting around on the flat water there.

I made most of my duck gybes after a few shaley ones to start with and then Impi started going for some too. I saw him make one in the end. Great conditions, the sort of thing you travel halfway round the world to get. Usually I hate sand and sailing in the estaury gets everyhting covered in it, but with such high temperatures and a very wamr wind everything was dry by the time I walked back to the van making packing up a nicer experience too.

My new 5m sail was good too.

All topped off with a nice BBQ and some particularly strong cider!
